Coast to Coast Project Reveal | Foyer

Although it has been a full year since we last photographed a major project, it was well worth the wait. We're sharing phase one of our Coast to Coast Project, including the foyer, home office, and front room turned cozy media room. These wonderful clients relocated from sunny California to be closer to family, and they were seeking assistance in furnishing and styling the front rooms in their new construction home.

Starting with the foyer, we are sharing the details in how we layered earthy colors and textures within a modern contemporary style. With a blank canvas and a bold vision, we were able to curate beautiful spaces equally unique to these clients and to the area.

To maximize in scale, we installed a 9 frame gallery wall to occupy the large amount of negative space on this wall. The black frames and plaid ottomans pair well to the existing barn door. They add subtle contrast which provides interest and depth. The natural wood on the console table and the soft gold finish on the chandelier provide much needed warmth in this light and bright area.

Lighting and window treatments are often referred to as the jewelry of the home, and in this case, we couldn't agree more. The unique design of this modern chandelier catches your attention the moment you walk into this home. It's definitely a conversation piece.

For additional warmth and interest, we painted the built-ins in the foyer extension SW Jasper 6216. This rich saturated green beautifully compliments the existing barn doors in color way and contrast. We softened the overall appearance by installing a subtle wallpaper on the back of each cubby and layered in accessories rich in texture. These clients lean more minimal; therefore, we made sure not to overcrowd their shelves.

We love how light and bright the foyer appears in contrast to the new cozy media room. Painting the trim and casing in the media room helps the foyer appear even brighter. Stay tuned as we transition into the heavily layered media room, and fabulous home office.
